Tales of the Tweedlebugs

Its mid July. Somewhere in the midst of the last few months we made a daring move to our new house. In the crazy and chaotic sojourn, that can only be compared to the experience of sitting on the hood of ones car while moving forward full-throttle, into an automatic car wash, we pummeled our way through the final months of our school year.

Somewhere in there we bought a house. Closed a deal. And while juggling packing, planning and raising two small imps we balanced our time into ripping up carpet in the new place and laying fresh pergo. We set our moving day for the end of May. And with the help of dozens of friends and family, we made our goal.

We landed, tangled and upside down into our new home. With a few weeks to finish up in of our school years, we stumbled around mountains of flotsam and jetsam trying to make sense of our lives.

We managed to grab a camera a few times, catching glimpses of cherished friends who helped us along. Sadly, there a lot of folks missing from those photos.

Our new Home.

The day we took ownership!

The "before shot" of the living room

Experimented with a few colors...red. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Painting, Pergo and dear, dear friends...

Susan and Steve help paint...

(no ladder required for Steve)

Pergo (Thank you John and Mat!)

Testing out the new doorbell. A perfect fit! (Unlike his pants...)

Lovin having a YARD (with room to run, slide, and play!)

Following the deer that occasionally wander into our neighborhood

In short, its was a busy spring. But we LOVE our new home. Thank you to ALL of our friends and family who helped us so much during this crazy time!

We revel in summer now. Stay tuned! Stories of our VERY adventurous summer are coming soon!!

Spring Awakenings

April showers bring May flowers. Unless of course you live in western Washington. Then April showers usually bring...May showers.

Ah. Rain or shine, its spring. We took a couple of fun trips for our spring break.

Spring Break Adventures!

Friday Harbor, WA
Our trip to visit dear friends, Susan and Steve.

Jember fixes our hair the night before the big trip

First ferry ride!

Poptarts. The breakfast food of sailors...

Swabbing the deck.

Susan and Steve's wonderful home on Orcas Island. Their home is a place for reading books in front of the fire and for sitting in picture windows that overlook the water. We eat well, play well and LOVE our time visiting with our loving friends.

Steve shows us how to play flutes.

The big picture window overlooking the Sound is a perfect place for meditation and reading our favorite books.

We love the big swing

Playing with Susan in the tent she set up in the living room

Telling Steve stories...

Happy snackin!

Jonas and Jember love books

Early Morning Nature Walk

Exploring the beach (and the cool beach swing!)

And later our trip up to Maple Falls and our beloved aunts: Sue and Shirley

(What a backyard!) The gardens and meadow await

Lovin the John Deer mower!

Happy Sue and Shirley. Preparing fresh rhubarb crunch.

Which we loved!

And now for the BIG news:

We bought a house!!

We move in May! (Just in case anyone was worrying that our lives would be getting dull or uneventful. No worries there!)

Will keep you posted!
